Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – News
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce all specifics during its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated the company was looking to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
